Challenge YOUrself #65 - Life Goals!

Hello my scrappy friends - It is time for the
We are asking you to create a layout about your goals in life - and to be sure to include YOU in your layout!

This one really hits home for me this month. At the end of June, the company that I have worked for, for the last 39 years, will be moving from New Jersey to Florida.  While I was offered a position to join them, I am unable to do so.  My family comes first, and all of them are in New Jersey.  I have no connections in Florida ( other than Disney World!)
- and I feel my home is and will always be New Jersey!

So I find myself in an unexpected and life changing situation, and have begun the challenge of finding a new job - after 39 years!
So with that in mind - my LIFE GOALS at this time are:
Worry Less!
Enjoy More!
Choose Happy!

As my title says - "DONUT worry - BE HAPPY!"

I thought this donut paper was SO FUN and just perfect for photos of my hubby and I at a donut shop we found, while on a get-a-way weekend in January of 2017.

Maybe if I keep repeating this, it will sink in!

Thanks for stopping by!
I hope I've inspired you to join us this month at the Challenge YOUrself Blog!

Challenge YOUrself #58 - "One World Trade"

Hello everyone!  It is time for a really FUN and CREATIVE Challenge over at the Challenge YOUrself Blog!  This month, we are asking you to "Make your own background" and as always, to include YOU in a photo on your layout!

Below is my take on the challenge.  Most of the papers used on this layout are from the Kaisercraft Stargazer Collection - from My Little Scrapbook Store.  I added the "pop" of yellow patterned paper for contrast, and to coordinate with the yellow color of the lights in the photo.
For the background, I started with a plain white piece of cardstock, I placed a stencil over it - and sprayed it with 2 colors of Glimmer Mist.  The stencil had  sharp angles on it ( you can see that on the bottom right,) but when I was done spraying, I didn't want to "waste" the spray that was still on the stencil, so I turned it over and kind of "smushed" it on the page.  It gave it a whole new look, and I am very pleased with how it came out!
Here you can see part of the stencil, and the lovely shimmer I couldn't let go to waste.  I also splattered some black India Ink on the background as well.

We spent a very emotional and moving day in NYC with our Disney Cruise friends Melodie, and Kimberly, who were visiting over Thanksgiving weekend last year.  It was our first trip to the National 911 Museum.

Love using the new Nuvo Crystal Drops on my layouts - so much fun!

Thanks so much for stopping by!  I hope you will join in on this creative challenge at the Challenge YOUrself Blog - Stop by the blog to check out more inspiration from our talented Design Team!
I can't wait to see what you create!

SOS May Tic Tac Toe Challenge - Life is too Short!

Hello and Happy May everyone!!

I hope everyone had a great April!
My month was a bit busy, as my husband had a total knee replacement on the 4th, and was in the hospital and the rehab facility for the first 2 weeks.  He is on the slow road to recovery, and doing well.  I don't know how I found the chance to scrap - but I am so happy that I did!

Well, since it is May, that means that it is time for another FUN layout challenge over at the Scrap Our Stash Blog!  I really love these Tic Tac Toe Challenges as they help me to look through and find items in my "Stash" that I purchased because I loved them, and then somehow they got put away and forgotten about, ( or buried under something, most likely!)

Here is this month's Tic Tac Toe Board:

I decided to use the "Here We Go Collection" from Simple Stories for my layout, which captures a memory of our Disney Wonder Panama Canal Cruise, and our fun day on a
Dune Buggy Tour in Cozumel, Mexico!

Here is my "Life is too Short" layout:
I chose to go straight across the middle and used:
The Color Yellow
Clouds
Paper Clip

Here are a few close ups:

Challenge YOUrself April Challenge "INSPIRE"

Hello my Scrappy Friends!!  Happy April!  I hope Spring had finally Sprung in your neck of the woods!  I know I am looking forward to warmer and sunnier weather!

It is time for this month's challenge over at the Challenge YOUrself Blog!  This month's theme is all about the word "INSPIRE" ( and a photo of you too of course!)  What inspires you? Or maybe, who do you, or how have you inspired someone?

Check out all of the great "INSPIRATION" layouts from our AMAZING Design Team, and get all the details and prize info over at the Challenge YOUrself Blog!

Here is my layout for the challenge:
In case you didn't guess, my Mom INSPIRES me!  Her love of crafts, and her family always inspires me to explore my creative side.  We had such a great time at a paint night together.  I love how our paintings came out!
I used a new product from NUVO.  It is a mousse, or kind of like a paste that sets when dry.  I used it on the wooden title, and also dabbed it on the base page through a stencil - you can see a bit of it behind the flowers above.
You can see the gold a bit better in this photo.  I fussy cut all of the flower embellishments out of a 12 x 12 page from My Mind's Eye, then layered them and added some with 3D pop dots.
Another close up of the layers of flowers and some added bling.  I created a pocket behind my photo and tucked in a card for journaling.

Here is the journaling card - and yes, so blessed to have a Mom, who is also my best friend!

Another close up of the NUVO gold mousse - love this stuff!

I think I am going to have to purchase it in other colors too!!

Thanks so much for stopping by!!  I hope my layout will "INSPIRE" YOU to play along with us this month at the Challenge YOUrself Blog - Hop on over and check out all of the other beautiful INSPIRATION from the FANTASTIC Design Team there - and get all the details / contest rules / prize info, while you are there!   I can't wait to see what you CREATE!

Lasting Memories March GDT Week 5 -- *5 Patterned Papers "Good Wait!"

Hello Scrappy Friends!
It is time for my last week as a Guest Designer for the Lasting Memories Scrapbook Layout Blog.
I really had a great time with these challenges, and I hope they have inspired you to get some scrappy and creative time in, and play along with us!

The last challenge is to use 5 different pattern papers.  If any of you have seen my layouts on previous posts, you know this is not a problem for me - and something that I love to do. A helpful hint for those that might find this difficult - try to use papers from the same paper line or collection. This way the manufacturers have done all the coordinating for you.  If not, don't be afraid to put different patterns together on your own.  I'd suggest looking for patterns that contain the same or similar colors, and build from there!

Here is my layout - I used BoBunny's Happy Tails Collection - I used 7 different patterns in this layout - 5 are obvious. Numbers 6 and 7 are the front and back of BoBunny's Double Dot Orange Citrus Vintage, used to mat the photos, and for the journaling tag.

I also used 3 of the same photos that I had played with by using different filters from an app that I have on my phone - I thought they came out cool and worked great for this layout!
These are our 2 Portuguese Waterdogs, Maggie, on the bottom left with the white paws and chest, and Tino on the top right, who is all black.  This breed is very smart, and since they are a working dog, they need to be challenged and kept busy.  One of their favorite training games is "wait."  After they sit, and then down, I place a treat on the top of one of their paws. As you can see, the won't even look at the treat, and will leave it there until I say "OK, Take it!"

I then praise them and say "Good Wait!"

I've had the orange Double Dot Chipboard letters and swirls in my stash forever!, and thought they worked perfectly with this layout.

I matted and popped the "DOGS" sticker, and thought the orange dot washi tape worked well with the papers and chipboard. Love all the coordinating embellishments with this line!

I popped the mat with the 3 photos, and created a pocket to tuck a journaling card into.  Love that cute black and white doggie washi tape too!

Here is the back of the journaling card, and yes, I do love my dogs!  They bring such joy and love into our lives!

Thanks for stopping by, and thanks again to the Lasting Memories Challenge Blog for the March Guest Designer Spot!  I really had a great time - and completed 5 extra layouts this month too!! Check out the Lasting Memories Blog, for all of the challenge info and prize details and please join us, and play along!

Disneyland 2016 - I am grateful!

Hi everyone!  I've decided to play along with 3 FUN Challenge Blogs this month - all on one layout!

First - I love the sketch Challenge offered by  Stuck?! Sketches
Here is the sketch:

And - I am also joining in the FUN over at the Lasting Memories Layout Challenge Blog!
They have a Tic Tac Toe Challenge going on this month and it worked perfectly with the Simple Stories "I Am" collection that I wanted to use!  Here is their challenge:
I decided to use the center line, and incorporated Enamel Dots, Polka Dot Paper, and Hearts on my layout.

Next up is the challenge from "The Studio Challenges Blog"  Their challenge is : "Review the Year - instead of looking forward to the new year ahead, I want you to look back at the year you have just had! It could be a review of the whole year, something special that happened or your favourite thing about the year, or maybe it's one you would rather forget! it's up to you!"

Last year brought major changes to our family and every day lives, but I chose to focus on the love we all have for each other, our good health, and our love of travel.  I selected a photo of my hubby and I, enjoying breakfast on our last day in Disneyland, after we cruised through the Panama Canal on the Disney Wonder.  What an awesome adventure! I titled the layout "I am grateful" since I truly am grateful for all the blessing we have been given.

Here is my take on the 3 challenges:
I used lots of "stuff" from my stash of Simple Stories "I Am" Collection and had a blast layering lots of elements!

Thanks so much for stopping by!  And THANKS to those 3 great blogs for the fun challenges!
