JUST Fab-U-Lous!

Hi Scrappy Friends!

I hope you are all enjoying your summer!

I had a chance to get really scrappy with my friends at another Scrap-a-Doodle Doo Weekend event this past weekend!

We all had a blast - as THE DOO really knows how to hold AWESOME Weekend crops!!

I am so happy with the layouts I was able to make - just for me!  No class, no challenge, no deadline!  JUST FOR FUN CREATIVE "ME" TIME!!  I'd love to share them with you and I hope they will inspire you to get crafty and just create!

Here is the first one - and I have to say it is one of my favorites!

When the Simple Stories Fab-U-lous Line came out - I knew I had to have it - I just love the colors, and the style of the collection!  Here is a layout honoring a photo that was taken last month on my birthday.  We went out to dinner, and this is a picture of my beautiful Mom and me, toasting the day and being together!

Well, if you don't know by now - I have to tell you that I LOVE lots of elements, textures and STUFF on my layouts ( as I am sure you can tell!  )

95 % of the products used came from Scrap-a-Doodle Doo.  The beautiful pearl and pink/yellow bead embellishment right under the journaling was from a broken necklace.

I added it to the layout using HELMAR Scrap Dots, not so much for height, but to ooze into the back of the pin and secure it firmly to the page when it dried.

I hope you enjoyed looking, and I wish you all a HAPPY, SCRAPPY Weekend!!

OH - if you are in the Lancaster, PA area and will be attending the CKC that is there July 27,28 & 29, be sure to check out SCRAP-A-DOODLE DOO's Booth # 113 - and tell them SHERRI sent you!!  Ask them to show you all the great kits that I and the other DT members created for the event!!

I've been a very busy scrapper.......

Hi there SCRAPPY PEOPLE!!

I've been quite busy lately, but I think it is
SNEAK PEEK TIME!

I am going to share 2 Projects with you that I've designed

that were made EXCLUSIVELY for the upcoming CKC ( Creating Keepsakes Convention) in LANCASTER, PA!!!

Are you going? The dates are JULY 27th - JULY 29th
- JUST 2 WEEKS AWAY!!!

THE DOO asked me to come up with some FUN, DIFFERENT
and "OUT OF THE BOX" Project Kits to offer at CKC,
and that is exactly what I tried to "DOO!"

I'll share 2 of them with you here!

Oh, and if you are going to CKC - be sure to head over to SCRAP-A-DOODLE DOO's BOOTH and pick one up before they are ALL GONE!! ALL of the CKC Kits are SPECIAL EDITIONS and there are LIMITED QUANTITIES, so if you want one be sure to get there early and grab one!! Wait until you see all the goodies they have in store for you this year!

First up is a "Recipe Stand" from KAISERCRAFT. While you can put a recipe on here to follow while you are cooking, you can also use this to DISPLAY you latest and greatest 12 x12 Layout, or even use it to hold open an Idea Book or Scrapbook Magazine for inspiration while working on a new project!

I love the BoBunny Weekend Market collection, and I thought it was PERFECT for this project - the stand looks great even on it's own without anything displayed on it - don't you think?? I've even added some BLING from ZVA and some vintage ribbon - it all comes in your kit, with complete instructions and color photos!

Below is the photo of the back - it is finished too - so it will display nicely in your home.
It would make a nice gift too - KIT COST is $40.00

*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*

Next is a BIRTHDAY EXPLOSION BOX !!

Look at those "cool" paper candles (or would they be "hot?" LOL!)

And I really like how the paper "ribbon" came out too!

I created this box to be a mini album - as well as a gift card holder! 2 presents in one!! There are LOTS of places to put photos of the special day too! This KIT's COST is just $19.99 - and you can use the instructions to create it again and again - for all kinds of occasions!

I used paper from Imaginisce's "HELLO CUPCAKE" paper collection. I LOVE all the colors!!

This kit will also include full color photos of the "fronts" and "backs" of each "page" along with cutting / scoring instructions, paper piecing template (for the hat) buttons and this COOL YELLOW May Art's WEB WEAVE RIBBON - This stuff is my latest scrap "addiction!" ~ have you seen all the beautiful colors this stuff comes in?? - HOTNESS!!

So - like I said before, these are just 2 of the SPECIAL CKC Kits that Scrap-a-Doodle Doo will have available for sale at the event. Be sure to check all the goodies they are getting ready for you while you are there!

If you can not make it to CKC - then email THE DOO at customerservice@scrap-a-doodledoo.com if you would like to purchase these kits!

Thanks for stopping by ~ Happy Scrappin' !

Pocket Book Mini Album

Hi there Doodle Doo'ers!!  I hope you are all enjoying your summer, and keeping COOL!

I wanted to share a cute mini album that I created for a co-worker, who presented it to her grand daughter for her confirmation. this was my first attempt using Mod Podge (MP) and I am happy with the results, as was the proud Grandma, and the sweet little girl who made her confirmation.

Most of these supplies were purchased from Scrap-a-Doodle Doo, and I assembled this sweet little album at the last Scrap-a-Doodle Doo Weekend event!  The paper was given to my by my good friend and scrappin' buddy and it worked perfectly!  ( THANKS JANICE!)

Well - here is the front of the purse.  It is a hard chipboard album made by Fabscraps and was purchased from Scrap-a-Doodle Doo  ( I have to apologize for the poor photos - I was in a rush to give it to the Grandma!)

The flowers were from my flower collection from past "DOO" purchases.  The white peal beads and the feather were from one of Scrap-a-Doodle Doo's Mixed Media Kits - if you have never checked them out - please "DOO" they are full of GREAT stuff to add to your projects ( AND THEY ARE ON SALE!)  I punched a hole in the bottom right corner of the front flap and hung a beautiful resin cross by Melissa Frances from some fuzzy fiber.
Here you can see that I painted the edges and the inside center with a bright purple, and then gave it a coat of "MP"  I also punched a hole on the top and hung a Tim Holtz Swivel Clap to which I added some bead and charms from left over and broken jewelry  **GREAT TIP for something to keep or search for at Garage Sales to add a little something special to your projects!**

Here is the back.  I left it very plain and let the paper's message be the focus here.

Here is a close up of that cute little cross from Melissa Frances.

Here is a close up of that flower grouping on the front.  I am so please how it turned out!

Inside cover and first page

Purple foam THICKERS and some pearl swirls.

I made a pull out pocket on a few of the pages too.

Some buttons and stickers added to the decoration.

Last page and back cover - the words are from a Heidi Swap Sticker set, and the adorable little Communion Girl is a custom die cut that you can order from  Scrap-a-Doodle Doo.  (You can see the charms in this photo too.(

I mixed lots of patterns / colors / and papers in this mini - but I love the way they all worked together.

Chipboard minis are so much fun, and make great gifts - I hope this inspires you to try one - or to get crafty and make another!

Thanks for stopping by THE DOO BLOG!
