I'm a New Design Team Member for the My Little Scrapbook Store!!!

Hello Scrappy Friends!  I am excited to announce that I have been asked to join the Design Team for My Little Scrapbook Store!    Please check out their great website full of awesome Scrappy Goodness!!  You can also join us for some inspiration on their Facebook Page Scrapbooking Layouts and More!

I really love a challenge and the Stargazer Collection from Kaisercraft was really not my usual style.  When Michelle at My Little Scrapbook Store asked me to play around with it -
I thought - Why not!

The colors are Blues, Silver, Grey and White.  I thought they would work great with Black and White photos!  Here is my Layout for your inspiration.  ( I'll list the items used a the bottom of this post - Plus a LINK where you can get your Happy Scrappy Bag too! )

I LOVE how this layout came out!  These photos were taken last September, at the Pocono Lantern Festival, Pocono Raceway, when my friends and I our first Lantern Fest!  It was a great day and an amazing release! We have to do this again for sure!

Here are some close ups for you:
I love to layer patterns, and tearing edges adds an added texture to the layout. I like to ink my edges with Ranger Distress Stains.  I double matted the photos,
and added them with 3D Foam Tape.
I've had this grey flower and crystal sprig of flowers forever! I love how they look on this layout!!

One of my favorite things to do is to create a little "pocket" behind one of the photos, using 3D Foam tape. I then tuck a decorative tag with some kind of pull tag in, and include journaling on the back  - here is the front and back of the tag for this layout.

Thanks so much for stopping by - if it was your first time here, WELCOME!
I hope you'll stop by again, if you've been here before - THANKS for coming back!
I hope I've inspired you to "GET SCRAPPY" with it - and check out all the goodies over at the My Little Scrapbook Store too!

Feel free to leave a comment below! I'd love to hear from you!

Scrap Our Stash Sept Blend-a-Sketch "GOATS"

Scrap Our Stash has an awesome Blend-A-Sketch Challenge for September!  Lots and lots of elements to inspire you - and an added challenge to include BUTTONS or FLAIR on your layout too!  I hope you can find some YOU time and play along with us!  Details and Prize info - along with more Design Team Inspiration can be found on the Scrap Our Stash Blog!! Pop on over and check it out!

Here is my layout for your inspiration. I used photos from our Disney Wonder Alaska Cruise Excursion while in the Port of Skagway, Alaska.
My background is based on the sketch on the left.  I replaced the glasses with the fence at the bottom, and spread the journaling lines out above and below the photos, using chipboard words and tiny alpha stickers.  From the right sketch, I used a large chipboard shape, similar to the one in the sketch, and covered it with the plaid paper.  I also used 2 photos.  I like to cluster my embellishments in Three's - so I have 3 groups of 3 buttons for the added challenge.
Here are some close ups for you:
I love the Thicker letters that I used for the title.  Because the background papers were a little busy, I outlined them with a fine black marker to make them pop.  Here you can also see the dimension of the chipboard shape behind the photos - which I adhered with 3D Foam, for added dimension.

I followed through and outlined the tiny letters in black marker as well - I think it helps them to stand out - and ties in the black chipboard words from Dusty Attic too.

Loving this color combo!

Love Love Love this goat paper!! Those goats are so cute! When I saw the paper - I knew I had to have it, and use it for these photos!

Can you see the goats behind the fence?

Thanks for stopping by!  I hope I have inspired you to join us at the Scrap Our Stash Blog, and play along with this SUPER FUN Challenge!
I look forward to seeing what you come up with!

Challenge YOUrself #57 - "Gotcha!"

It's time for this month's challenge from the Challenge YOUrself Blog.  This month - we challenge you to create a layout - that is PET THEMED - and of course - be sure to include YOU in one of the photos!

For anyone that knows me - you already know that this is not a very hard challenge for me - as I have 2 Portuguese Water Dogs, Maggie and Tino - who make me laugh every day!
The challenge was finding a photo with me and one of them in it!
I decided to use one from our Tino's "Gotcha" Day!

Here is my layout for your inspiration:
This guy entered our lives at full speed, and now, 4 years later - he is still a busy boy!  Some nights we wonder how he is still standing!? LOL!!  Well Portuguese Water Dogs are working dogs, and they are very smart - so we make sure he gets lots of exercise and play time!
Here are some close ups for you:
Loving all the embellishments, colors and textures!
This BoBunny Mama Razzi Collection is one of my favorites!

I'm a FAN of Washi Tape and Nuvo Crystal Dots!

This sweet boy's full name is Valentino - and he is such a LOVE!
His registered name is Turnabout is Fair Play.  He comes from an amazing friend and breeder in Connecticut.  Tino is also the proud daddy of 2 litters of beautiful PWD's who continue to carry on the standard and sweet temperament of this wonderful breed.
WE LOVE TINO!
Thanks so much for stopping by!  I hope you find time to play along with us this month at the Challenge YOUrself Blog! Head on over to the Blog for lots more inspiration, Challenge Rules and Prize info too!

SOS Golden Globe September Challenge - Hawaiian Memories

WOW - Have we got a challenge for you this month - over at the SCRAP OUR STASH BLOG!!
This month's Golden Globe Challenge is to create a GRID layout - and use a TRANSPARENCY or VELLUM on you page!!  Please head over to the SCRAP OUR STASH BLOG - for full challenge details, inspiration from the rest of our awesome Design Team, and PRIZE info too!

I sure do love a good challenge and this certainly was one for me!! If you've seen my previous layouts - you know that I like to use lots of "STUFF" and lots of layers. I felt a bit worried as to how I was going to handle the "grid" requirement of this challenge. Well, I have to say - I really like how this came out, and I had lots of fun with this challenge!  I encourage you to give it a try and play along with us!

I used photos from our 2012 Disney Wonder Cruise to Hawaii to celebrate out 30th Anniversary. For the added "Transparency" requirement, I used an acetate overlay from the Kaisercraft Tropicana Collection.
Here are some close ups for you:
I added a piece of fishnet between the base page and the matching acetate overlay. I then glued various embellishments to the top of the overlay - seaglass, flowers and seashells gave the layout more depth and texture.

I have had this palm tree sticker forever!  I think it finally found the perfect home on this layout!

Here we are standing on a black sand beach  - with shirts on that our cruise group had made. - It was a truly a vacation to remember!

I added a journaling card as part of the grid elements - and since it was a Disney cruise - I had to add the cute little pink Mickey head!

I love the little pink embellishment flowers - and I especially love the photos of the beautiful hibiscus too!

Thanks so much for stopping by - I hope you join us for this challenge over at the Scrap Our Stash Blog!
