May Flower Challenge from MLSS - Lazy Days

There is a May Flower Challenge over at the My Little Scrapbook Store - Scrapbook Layouts and More! Facebook Page - Come on over and check out this FUN group -

I hope you will play along too!

Here is my take on the challenge:

I took this photo of our 9 year old Portuguese Water Dog Maggie  (aka Reelife Princess Magdalena of the Sea)  I love how she looks out the window with her white paw hanging down and in "her chair" - yes, it is hers, she is the only one who sits in it, and we did buy that chair just for her!

The lighting is just perfect - and I knew I had the perfect scrapbook paper in my stash that would go great with the colors of our new curtains!  I am so happy with how this came out, and had so much fun adding all those beautiful flowers and getting messy with paint and sprays on the chipboard frame.

Here are some close ups for you:

I hope I've inspired you to break into your flower stash and use them up on this FUN Challenge.

Head on over to the FB Page and see all the rest of the entries for some more inspiration

SOS - Sketch Challenge - "Chicago Pizza Tour"

Hello Everyone - I hope this post finds you all doing well!
It is time for this month's Sketch Challenge over at the Scrap Our Stash Blog !
We encourage you to play along with us, using the sketch below as your inspiration - and also be sure to use KRAFT PAPER and at least ONE METAL EMBELLISHMENT!!

I decided to scrap a few photos that were taken at the beginning of February - while on a Chicago Pizza Tour, during a sales meeting that I planned for the new company I work for.
Everyone had a great time, and it was a great team building event. We took a beautiful luxury bus to 3 different famous pizza restaurants in Chicago along with a great guide who told us all about each location, pizza facts, and info about Chicago.  If you are ever in Chicago - be sure to check out Chicago Pizza Tours!!  The photos in this layout are from our visit to Flo and Santo's  - famous for their thin crust pizza.  It was really good -but they cut their round pies into squares in Chicago -  very different than the way we do it in New Jersey!

For my base page, I used a piece of Kraft Resist Paper, from a 12x12 pad of Tim Holtz Idea-ology, that I have had forever!!  I then used a TWC Mini Brick Stencil, along with a Nuvo brush and Taylored Expressions Earl Grey Ink to create the brick design in all 4 corners of the layout.   I also used it to ink all of the edges of my papers, including the torn ones -
I like how it all came out.
Here are the sales team members who attended the meeting  - It was so great to be able to put faces to names and voices! Everyone was so nice, and the Pizza Tour was really a hit!
I created a little tag with journaling to tuck behind the photo of the group.
Here is the back of the tag and you can see the metal brads that I added for the challenge.
You can also see the splatters of Glimmer Mist that I used.
More metal brads some FUN metal Flair, and those cool inked/distressed edges!
(and those square pieces of pizza too! LOL!)
I used different types and fonts of letters for my title.  I love how it turned out!

Thanks for stopping by!  I hope you can find some time to escape and play along with us this month at the Scrap Our Stash Blog!  Head on over there to see more inspiration from the other Design Team members, Contest Rules, Prize Info and where you can link up your layout too!

Dreaming of Vacation - Challenge YOUrself Blog #78

HELLO my scrappy friends.  Sending Love and Hugs from New Jersey. The world is a crazy place right now, and I hope you are all doing well.   This month's challenge from the Challenge YOUrself Blog makes you think about Summer Dreams - and be sure to include a photo of YOU!

Summer makes me DREAM of Vacation - and one of our favorite vacations to take is a Cruise!  I decided to use a photo of my hubby and I from our last cruise this past October. Here is where I used the "Dream" prompt in the challenge - I used these Tim Holtz stickers that I have had for ever - to create the journaling on my tag.

I hope I've inspired you to play along with us at the Challenge YOUrself Blog - Please join in the fun - and escape and find a little YOU time this month!

Challenge YOUrself March Challenge #75 - Polka Dots

It's time for the March Challenge from the Challenge YOUrself Blog!! This month, we challenge YOU to use POLKA DOTS along with a picture of YOU in your layout!

I used photos from our 2014 cruise on the Disney Fantasy.  They had an Italian Cocktail Tasting, and Phil, Nick and I had a very enjoyable time.  (Our youngest son Jake, was not old enough to join us at the tasting, so he is not in the photos.)
I decided to use the GOLD column in the photo as my color inspiration for this layout.
I used My Mind's Eye - "Yes Please" Collection, along with "Dream" Thickers for the title and some Mambi Chipboard elements.
Here are some close ups for your inspiration:
I love to create a pocket using 3M foam tape, and tuck a tag behind a photo, on which I journal info about the layout, photos and memories.

Thanks for stopping by! Be sure to visit the Challenge YOUrself Blog and check out all the other amazing layouts from the rest of the Design Team, Challenge Rules and PRIZE info!
I can't wait to see what you create!

April SOS Saturday Cartoon and Sketch "CareBear" Challenge "#friends"

This months Saturday Cartoon / Sketch Challenge from the Scrap Our Stash Blog gives you LOTS of options!
You get to choose the Color and Symbol of the CareBear of your choice and include that color and an embellishment or patterned with the symbol on the bear's chest!

I chose the PINK "Love-a-Lot" Bear, who's symbol is 2 Hearts!
I picked a photo of a Girl's Day Out in NYC to see the Mickey Exhibit - and kept the color palette to PINK, Black and White!

We are all BIG Mickey and Disney fans and had so much FUN!

Here are some close ups for you!

I used 2 + hearts

The base page just had a bunch of plan intersecting circles and I doodled on all of them to match the doodling on the patterned paper I used.

I hope I've inspired you to play along with us this month at the Scrap Our Stash Blog!
Give it a try - you'll have a blast!

Challenge YOUrself Blog Movie Challenge "YO HO - YO HO!" #62

Hello Scrappy Peeps!  Thanks for stopping by today  - I hope the weather has warmed up a bit where you are!  We've had some pretty COLD weather here in New Jersey - the perfect time to spend nights at home scrapping!  It is time for this month's Challenge from the Challenge YOUrself Blog!  Challenge #62 asks you to create a layout - using a "movie theme" and be sure to INCLUDE YOU in your layout!!  HOP on over to the Challenge YOUrself Blog for Prize and Challenge Info - and be sure to check out all of the AWESOME inspiration from the other members on the Design Team!

My layout is inspired by the Pirates of the Caribbean movies!  One of our favorite vacations is a Disney Cruise - and one of our favorite events is "Pirate Night!"  There is an awesome show on the top deck, where Capt. Hook, Capt. Mickey and all the characters appear!  Many guests - us included, "dress up" as Pirates for the night - and we even get to have our picture taken with Capt. Jack Sparrow!
These photos are from our Disney Magic Cruise in October of 2017 - we sailed out of NYC to Port Canaveral, Florida and back. Pirate Night also fell on our 35th Anniversary - It was a special and memorable way to celebrate with our family!
Here are some close ups for you
- I used lots of "stuff" from my "stash."

My favorite way to add journaling is to create a "pocket" behind a photo, using 3 strips of 3D Foam Tape - one on each side and one along the bottom.  I usually decorate the front - and write on the back, adding some type of "pull tab" to the top.
I hope I've inspired you to play along with us this month at the Challenge YOUrself Blog - I can't wait to see what MOVIE inspires you!

Challenge YOUrself #59 Buttons, Bling & Butterflies Nov 2018

Hello Everyone - it is time for a FUN new challenge over at the Challenge YOUrself Blog!

This month's challenge is to use 3 specific elements on your layout -BUTTONS, BLING, and BUTTERFLIES -  and of course, as always, please be sure to include YOU in one of the photos.

Please be sure to stop by the Challenge YOUrself Blog for complete CONTEST and PRIZE INFO - and check out the other Design Team Layouts for lots more inspiration!

Here is my take on the challenge - I used lots of "stuff" from my stash, and some of my favorite papers from My Mind's Eye Lost and Found Collection.  I also used templates that I have from Kiwi Lane that I've had forever!  It was a fun way to incorporated lots of the coordinating papers from this beautiful collection!

This layout one of my favorites - not only do I love the colors and the papers - I love these ladies and the fun memory of this day celebrating our friend Marianne's Birthday!

Here are some close ups for you!:
I used lots of BLING - here and there as you can see - I even used a Nuvo Glitter Marker on the wooden "friends" title to give it some sparkle!

October Scrap Our Stash Blend-a-Sketch Challenge "Ahoy There!"

Hello Scrappy friends - It is time for this month's Blend-a-Sketch Challenge for October!  All of the details, rules and PRIZE info, along with more inspiration can be found on the
Scrap Our Stash Blog  - Please join us and play along!

I used the background from the left sketch - but I flipped it so the larger piece of patterned paper was on the top of the layout. I also  used the "tag" element from that sketch by making the banners into tags, and I also added round circle embellishments.  From the right sketch, I used 2 photos, the patterned paper layering and the banner shape.  I added the 2 red circles to go along with the dash circles on the sketch.  I also used the diagonal patterned paper for the banner on the far right.

Here is my layout for your inspiration:
I used photos of my hubby and I enjoying a "drink of the day" on our 2016 Disney Wonder Westbound Panama Canal Cruise.  I've collected lots of "cruise" paper over the years and actually mixed papers and embellishments from 3 different manufacturers in this layout!
I am very happy with how it turned out.
Here are some close ups for you!

Thanks for stopping by!  I hope I have inspired you to join us at the Scrap Our Stash Blog, and play along with this SUPER FUN Challenge!
I look forward to seeing what you come up with!
