May SOS Sketch +3 "Adventure"

Happy Scrapping everyone!  Here is a super FUN sketch for your inspiration from the Scrap Our Stash Blog - and a little added challenge too!  I hope you get a chance to make some time for YOU this month, and that my Design Team Layout inspires you to give it a try!

After searching my "stash" I decided to use the following items from the lists:
List 1 - Metal (BoBunny trinkets and some cool metal stuff I had in my stash FOR-EV-ER!!)
List 2 - Naples Yellow - The cool metal looking flower, and in the BoBunny Zoology Papers, as well as "Mustard Seed" Distress Stain
List 3 - Olive - Olive Cardstock, and some Bling, Distress Stain and in the papers also!

Here is my Layout:
As you can see, these photos are from our trip to San Diego, back in 2011 - YIKES!  5 years ago already!!   I think the photos I took of the Lions came out great, and I love the way they work with  BoBunny's Zoology Line. I've had this collection in my stash for quite some time! I had fun tearing the edges of some of the papers, and mixing up lots of patterns.  Then I added metal elements from my stash for List 1 of the challenge - I think they work perfectly too!

I thought the Zoology DOT paper was a little busy with all the other patterns, so I painted it with Ranger's Gold Paint dabber, before adding my photos and other papers - I think this helped to calm it down, and helped to make the photos and other papers pop!

Loving this photo of this magnificent Lion - and the cool Yellow Clossone Bronze flower from Prima!
Here are a few more close ups for you!

Thanks for stopping by!
I hope you will play along with us this month at Scrap Our Stash!

May SOS Book Cover Challenge - "True Love"

It is the beginning of May - so that means it is time for another "Book Inspired" Stash Challenge from Scrap Our Stash!  Lots of creative possibilities on this one!  Be sure to keep checking the Scrap Our Stash Blog for all of the GREAT INSPIRATION from our very CREATIVE Design Team Members!

Here is this month's challenge:  ** Don't forget - you MUST include FLOWERS on your layout too!
When looking at this book cover - the "HEART" pops out at me - and makes me think of LOVE.  The ocean sunset was also inspiring me too....   I searched my collection of photos and found one of my husband and I, that was taken by our son, on our 2007 Disney Magic, Mediterranean Cruise. We were standing on the deck, at sunset, and I love how it captures the beautiful ocean, and our silhouettes.

I can't tell you in words HOW MUCH I LOVE THIS MAN!  I hope this layout captures some of my feelings for him.  We are blessed to be able to say that we started out as High School Sweethearts, and we are still just as much In Love, as were were, back when it all began!!   Coincidentally, although we will be celebrating our 34th Wedding Anniversary later this year, in October, we will actually be celebrating 40 years of being together as a couple, tomorrow, May 6th!!!

Here is my DT Inspiration Layout. I titled it "TRUE LOVE"
I picked up on the turquoise color in the ocean, as I wanted to use these beautiful turquoise flowers by Prima.  I also love black and white with turquoise, and pulled out a few of the papers from my stash ( I do have a bin labeled "Black and White" ) and selected some with hearts, xx's and oo's and flowers too.

I decided a few spritz of Dylusions Vibrant Turquoise Spray was just what the grey and white background needed -   LOVE this stuff!!

I made a pocket with the photo - by using 3M Foam Tape and popping it off the layout a bit.  I then decorated and journaled on a tag, and slipped it inside!

Here is the tag, pulled out of the pocket.  I used the same washi tape on the tag, that I used on the bottom left corner of the layout

I then added turquoise accents -

A few sequins here and there....  I have a thing about groupings of "3" - it is not a rule, per say, but more of just my thing I guess!

I also made my own "pearl-like" swirls using my new NUVO Crystal Drops!!
LOVE how they came out!

And here is a close up of those beautiful flowers!

Thanks for stopping by!   I hope you will play along with us at SCRAP OUR STASH this month!  I can't wait to see what you come up with !

For the Scrap it with a Song Challenge, I selected the song "Best Day of My Life," because every day, and any time spent laughing and scrapping with my creative friends is a "BEST DAY!"

Glitter and Feathers!!! OH MY!!

LOVIN' this BoBunny Caribbean Glitter Paste !!!  I just spread it on with a plastic knife - Love this look!  What do you think?  FUN HUH??!!

I took this plain Heidi Swapp tag, and used Ranger Distress Ink to make it match and used it as my title.  I think it worked perfectly for the title of the layout, and for the song challenge too!!

Song component Lyric for : "Best Day of My Life"
I had a dream so big and loud
I jumped so high I touched the clouds
Wo-o-o-o-o-oh, wo-o-o-o-o-oh
I stretched my hands out to the sky
We danced with monsters through the night
Wo-o-o-o-o-oh, wo-o-o-o-o-oh
I'm never gonna look back
Woah, never gonna give it up
No, please don't wake me now
This is gonna be the best day of my life
My li-i-i-i-i-ife
This is gonna be the best day of my life
My li-i-i-i-i-ife
I howled at the moon with friends
And then the sun came crashing in
Wo-o-o-o-o-oh, wo-o-o-o-o-oh
But all the possibilities
No limits just epiphanies
Wo-o-o-o-o-oh, wo-o-o-o-o-oh
I'm never gonna look back
Woah, never gonna give it up
No, just don't wake me now
This is gonna be the best day of my life
My li-i-i-i-i-ife
This is gonna be the best day of my life
My li-i-i-i-i-ife
I hear it calling outside my window
I feel it in my soul (soul)
The stars were burning so bright
The sun was out 'til midnight
I say we lose control (control)
This is gonna be the best day of my life
My li-i-i-i-i-ife
This is gonna be the best day of my life
My li-i-i-i-i-ife
This is gonna be, this is gonna be, this is gonna be
The best day of my life
Everything is looking up, everybody up now
This is gonna be the best day of my life
My li-i-i-i-i-ife
