December SOS "Biscotti" Sketch Challenge and Farewell - for now!

Well, as they say, all good things must come to an end, and this will be my last post as a member of the Scrap Our Stash Design Team.  I am so grateful to have been a part of this talented bunch of ladies for the last 5 years!!  I can't believe it has been that long, and I've enjoyed every minute and every layout I've been challenged to create - think about that - 2 layouts / month, x 12 months, x 5 years  = 120 layouts!!  ( There are actually 123 layouts in the Scrap Our Stash label on my blog!!) OH MY!

While I have so enjoyed the creative journey with SOS, I felt it was time for me to step down for a bit. Working from home seems to offer me less free time - not sure why that is... but I know I am blessed to still be working and working from home in these unprecedented times! I'm still going to "get scrappy with it" and continue on with my other design teams, but I felt the need to cut back for now. I hope you will continue to follow my scrappy posts, and also play along with all the talented designers on the Scrap Our Stash Blog. You may see me join in once in a while too!

That being said - this last layout is bittersweet, as it is a reminder of our Friends Bakefest from last year. Due to Covid, and wanting to be safe, there is no Bakefest this year, but we will have to pick 2 days next year to make up for it!!! 

(Maybe Christmas Cookies in July - we can only hope!)

Challenge Yourself Blog #83 "Greatest Moments"

Hi everyone,

It is time for the November Challenge at the 

Challenge YOUrself Blog! 

This month's challenge prompt is "Home for the Holidays!" 

and it can be any Holiday that you celebrate 
- as long as YOU are in one of the photos!

We were cleaning out our basement a few weeks ago and 

I came across a box of photos and I knew I wanted to scrap this memory!

Christmas 1994! Our Nick was 5 1/2 yrs old and our Jake was an infant, just 3 months old and still sleeping.  Nick woke up that morning with 2 front teeth, and by the time all of those presents were unwrapped, he lost one!

When I saw his purple shirt, I knew that BoBunny's Altitude Collection would be perfect! I've been saving bits and pieces of what I have left in my "stash" and was so happy to be able to use it to scrap this special memory!  

I fussy cut some of the snowflakes from the papers in the collection

July Challenge YOUrself #55 Tropical Travel

Hello Scrappy Friends!  It is time for this month's July Challenge over at the 
Challenge YOUrself Blog!

For this challenge, I selected a photo of my husband and I that was taken at one of the ports, on our April 2018 Panama Canal Cruise, aboard the Disney Wonder.  This was our second visit to Beautiful Puerto Vallarta. Here we are with the amazing Pacific Ocean behind us!  

We hope to return there for a longer visit one day!

I've also entered this layout on the CSI Challenge Blog - Case File No. 257 - I was inspired by the color Yellow, and Tropical Pattern in the Case File Clues, along with a Floral Pattern and Flowers/Leaves from the Evidence List.

I was also inspired by the awesome photo challenge over at the Archiscraps Blog - it is a photo of Neal's Yard in London.  I love the bright colors and I hope to visit there on our trip to London in October!

2 Pg Layout Holiday Class Nov 27, 2012 -Join me!

Hi Everyone -- I am back to Scrappytown and Bloggerville, after being way for what seems like FOREVER!!

I will update you all with another post in the coming days - but I do have to say that it has been a very interesting few weeks.

Hubby and I spent our 30th Wedding Anniversary on an AWESOME "RE-HONEYMOON" Trip, and arrived home less than 24 hours before Hurricane Sandy hit New Jersey.  We spent the next week literally IN THE DARK and on gas lines -but we consider ourselves one of the lucky ones, and have learned to appreciate what we have and what we take for granted - ( like when you flick the light switch, the lights actually come on!!) So many others have lost everything, or had terrible damage to their homes.  We are thankful that all we were was inconvenienced, and are blessed to be able to say so.

ANYWAY.....  I want to share info for my next class at Scrap-a-Doodle Doo with you!

I was away from scrapping for so long, that I thought I lost some of my MOJO -but I'm very happy with how this 2 page layout came out - and I think IT'S BACK!! LOL!  I hope you like the Sneak Peeks and can join me!

We will be making a 2 page Holiday Layout featuring 

Kaisercraft's BEAUTIFUL Twig and Berry Collection, along with Prima and Kaisercraft flowers, and BLING!!  We are going to be learning some fun techniques - like, embossing Shimmer Sheets with the Cuttlebug, and using Ranger Alcohol Inks, Distress Stains and Stickles.

Students are requested to bring the following Adhesives/Tools: - a 12x12 Paper Trimmer, Small Sharp Scissors, your favorite adhesive/Tape Runner, 3D 1/2" CLEAR raised ZOT Dots - 3D Foam Dots.

Suggested ADD ONS/Tools*Teacher will have to share- but please bring your own if you'd like to work at your own pace : Ranger Forest Moss Distress Stain, RED and GREEN Ranger Alcohol Inks, along with applicator, foam pad and thinning solution, Red and Gold Stickles.
