SOS Feb Sketch Challenge "Let's Go!"

It's time for February's Pick Your Side - Sketch Challenge from the Scrap Our Stash Blog!
Check out the 2 page layout sketch below, pick the left or the right side - as inspiration to create your layout - and be sure to included Striped Pattern Paper and Mixed Alphas too!

I picked the LEFT side of the sketch and used lots of stuff from the Simple Stories "Crafty Girl" Collection.  This is a photo of me on the way to a weekend scrapbooking crop. I had fun using mixed alphas on the banners I made across the top - definitely not something I would usually do - but it really was fun, and I like how it turned out - I hope you do too - and that I've inspired you to play along with us at the Scrap Our Stash Blog this month!

Here are some close ups for you:

Challenge YOUrself Blog Movie Challenge "YO HO - YO HO!" #62

Hello Scrappy Peeps!  Thanks for stopping by today  - I hope the weather has warmed up a bit where you are!  We've had some pretty COLD weather here in New Jersey - the perfect time to spend nights at home scrapping!  It is time for this month's Challenge from the Challenge YOUrself Blog!  Challenge #62 asks you to create a layout - using a "movie theme" and be sure to INCLUDE YOU in your layout!!  HOP on over to the Challenge YOUrself Blog for Prize and Challenge Info - and be sure to check out all of the AWESOME inspiration from the other members on the Design Team!

My layout is inspired by the Pirates of the Caribbean movies!  One of our favorite vacations is a Disney Cruise - and one of our favorite events is "Pirate Night!"  There is an awesome show on the top deck, where Capt. Hook, Capt. Mickey and all the characters appear!  Many guests - us included, "dress up" as Pirates for the night - and we even get to have our picture taken with Capt. Jack Sparrow!
These photos are from our Disney Magic Cruise in October of 2017 - we sailed out of NYC to Port Canaveral, Florida and back. Pirate Night also fell on our 35th Anniversary - It was a special and memorable way to celebrate with our family!
Here are some close ups for you
- I used lots of "stuff" from my "stash."

My favorite way to add journaling is to create a "pocket" behind a photo, using 3 strips of 3D Foam Tape - one on each side and one along the bottom.  I usually decorate the front - and write on the back, adding some type of "pull tab" to the top.
I hope I've inspired you to play along with us this month at the Challenge YOUrself Blog - I can't wait to see what MOVIE inspires you!

Scrap Our Stash "Young Love" February Sketch + Hearts

Happy February Scrappers!  It is time for Scrap our Stash Blog's Sketch Plus Challenge!
This is  FUN one - perfect for Valentine's Day! You must use Heart Patterned Paper
and / or 3 or more hearts - I decided to do both!
I picked a photo of my hubby and I from "way back when" we were first dating in High School!
I decided not to add a title to the layout, and just did a little journaling in the bottom point of the big white heart that is on the base page.  I've had this paper for-ev-er and when I saw the BIG Heart on the sketch - I dug through my stash to find it!!  I hope I've inspired you to play along with us this month at the Scrap Our Stash blog - I can't wait to see your entries!
Young Love @ 1977 ~ High School Sweethearts

Here are some close ups for you:
I cut these hearts out of scrap heart pattern paper that I had and matted it on black, inking the edges and outlining some of the hearts with a black glitter pen.

The photo is from a photo booth, and I used a filter when I printed it.  the bit of "bling" under the photo is from a broken bracelet - talk about using your "stash!"

Love this chippie from Dusty Attic - I painted it pearl white with a dabber, then used silver and grey Distress Stains to give it dimension. So fun!

OMG! We were SO YOUNG!!

I love adding layers, dimensions and all different textures to my layouts!
These Prima Flowers are beautiful!!

I've also entered this layout in the CSI Case File No. 273 Challenge  I drew on the Traditional Clues - The Color Scheme - Baby Pink, Fuchsia, Light Gray, Evidence - Hearts, Valentine Themed Elements, Metal, Distressing -Testimony - Young Love

Thanks so much for stopping by!
