Disneyland 2016 - I am grateful!

Hi everyone!  I've decided to play along with 3 FUN Challenge Blogs this month - all on one layout!

First - I love the sketch Challenge offered by  Stuck?! Sketches
Here is the sketch:

And - I am also joining in the FUN over at the Lasting Memories Layout Challenge Blog!
They have a Tic Tac Toe Challenge going on this month and it worked perfectly with the Simple Stories "I Am" collection that I wanted to use!  Here is their challenge:
I decided to use the center line, and incorporated Enamel Dots, Polka Dot Paper, and Hearts on my layout.

Next up is the challenge from "The Studio Challenges Blog"  Their challenge is : "Review the Year - instead of looking forward to the new year ahead, I want you to look back at the year you have just had! It could be a review of the whole year, something special that happened or your favourite thing about the year, or maybe it's one you would rather forget! it's up to you!"

Last year brought major changes to our family and every day lives, but I chose to focus on the love we all have for each other, our good health, and our love of travel.  I selected a photo of my hubby and I, enjoying breakfast on our last day in Disneyland, after we cruised through the Panama Canal on the Disney Wonder.  What an awesome adventure! I titled the layout "I am grateful" since I truly am grateful for all the blessing we have been given.

Here is my take on the 3 challenges:
I used lots of "stuff" from my stash of Simple Stories "I Am" Collection and had a blast layering lots of elements!

Thanks so much for stopping by!  And THANKS to those 3 great blogs for the fun challenges!

"At the Zoo" Scrap Our Stash Sketch + "GOALS" Challenge

"At the Zoo"

Hi everyone!
Here is the first sketch of the new year from The Scrap Our Stash Blog.  We have a bit of a different format this month, and instead of the "Plus 3" added items challenge, from last year's Sketch challenges, we are kicking it up a bit, and asking you to use an item (or items) from your "Stash" that start with the first letter of the "word" for the month.   January's word is "GOALS"

Here is this month's sketch:

And here is my Design Team Inspiration Layout:

I flipped the sketch to the right side of the page, to accommodate the Giraffe on the base page.  I've had that base page since 2011!!  Talk about scrapping my stash!! LOL!  The photos are from our first trip to San Diego, back in July of 2011.  We really enjoyed the Wild Animal Park, even though it was a very hot day.  The Safari Ride was awesome, and so were the Giraffes and all of the animals we saw!

I used the following items for the "GOALS" Challenge:
G - Giraffe Paper, Green Enamel Dots, Giraffe Stickers
O - Orange Cardstock, Orange Enamel Dots, Olive Cardstock
A - Arrow, Alphabet (letters and stickers)
L - Lined Paper
S - Stickers

Thanks for stopping by!  I hope this Sketch and Word Challenge inspires you to get a little "Scrappy" and play along with us this month at Scrap Our Stash.  Click HERE for full Challenge Details and PRIZE Info!

I can't wait to see what you will create!

January Challenge YOUrself Blog "Skies of Blue"

Happy 2017 everyone!  I wish you all a year filled with Happiness, Good Health, Love, Laughter and the chance to make Wonderful  Memories.

It's  time for the January at the Challenge YOUrself Blog! This month we are using a wonderful song as your inspiration.  There are lots of directions you can go in, and I can't wait to see what you come up with!  Here is the challenge:
( Be sure to visit the Challenge YOUrself Blog, for all the words, Prize info, and lots of amazing inspiration from our very talented Design Team!)

While singing the song in my head - the words "Skies of Blue" "Clouds of White" and the word "Wonderful" made me think of the beautiful day my hubby and I spent at a Sunflower Maze, last August.

I wanted to focus on the word White and Blue, and the beautiful blue skies in the photo, so I searched my stash for paper that had lots of white and blue in it, and decided to use BoBunny's "Zip-a-Dee-Doodle" Collection.

I added some yellow to the photo mat, and yellow ink on some of the circles that I fussy cut from one of the pages to compliment the yellow in the photo.   As if there wasn't enough "doodling" on the page - I added some more of my own, here and there - like the "lacy" look doodle at the top of the circles in the photo above.
I added the doodles around the word stickers and the ones coming from the flowers too, along with doodling the date. I also outlined the "LOVE" in blue too.

Here are all the different circles and some other shapes that I cut out of one of the papers and inked with Ranger Distress Stain.  I only glued where they were tucked under the the circle above them, and kind of curled the bottom part to give dimension. I also added bling and pearls to the centers, and I also added the doodling you see around them.

I used the following items from BoBunny's "Zip-a-Dee-Doodle" Collection:
Papers: Journal (base) Zig Zag and Abstract
Combo Stickers
12 x 12 Chipboard
Buttons, Jewels
Layered Chipboard
Dimensional Stickers

Thanks for stopping by! Don't forget to check out lots more inspiration and FULL Challenge Rules over at the Challenge YOUrself Blog!  If you link up your layout, it could be featured on the Blog too!

"Puppy Love" SOS January "Tic Tac Toe Challenge"

Happy 2017 everyone!
It is time for a Brand New Challenge from the
Scrap Our Stash Blog!

I am so happy to be returning as a DT member of this very talented Scrap Our Stash Team, and providing inspiration for this AWESOME Challenge Blog!

This month, we have a Tic Tac Toe Stash Challenge, for your creative pleasure!  Just pick any 3 blocks in a row, across, up and down, or diagonally, and use those items from your "stash" in your layout!  This was lots of FUN, and I hope you join us and show us your creativity this month too!
Here is the Challenge:

And here is my take on, using Paint/Mist, 5+ Patterned Papers and Twine, from the 3 left vertical blocks!

I call this layout "Puppy Love" These are our 2 Portuguese Waterdogs, Valentino on the left, and Maggie on the right - laying nose to nose!  I used lots of "stuff" from BoBunny's "Happy Tails" collection.  The base page has been in my "stash" forever - the paw prints are raised and have a little glitter.

Here you can see the "twine" that I staples on using my Tim Holtz Tiny Attacher. You can also count the 5+ pattern papers, and the shiny heart was sprayed with Red Glimmer Mist, and then glazed.

I also sprayed this wooden "Heidi Swapp" hello title with red Glimmer Mist, and glazed it as well.  Love that cute washi tape that I've also had for some time!

Here is a close up of my sweet pups.  Tino on the left is all black with a wavy coat.  He is 2 years old.  His "big sister" Maggie is black and white with a curly coat. She is 4 yrs old.

I love lots of layers and patterns! I inked all of the torn edges with Ranger Distress stains.

Another close up of the torn and inked edges, along with the enamel and gem embellishments.

Thanks for stopping by!  I hope you will play along with us this month at the Scrap Our Stash Blog!

Wishing you and your family a very Happy and Healthy 2017, filled with ONLY Good "Stuff!"
