Red - White -and Blue Layouts for My Little Scrapbook Store's July Challenges

Hi Everyone - I'm on the Design Team over at My Little Scrapbook Store - and we have on-line crops where the DT members create inspiration layouts, and some of us do Facebook Live events where you can watch or scrap along with us.  Check out the Facebook Page for the on line events and join us!
For July, we did a weekly challenge for the colors Red / White / Blue, ending with the final week being a combination of all 3 - ( that one is still a work in progress for me!)

So for now - here are the single color layouts - I hope they inspire you to join us and play along!

RED - Photo from our 2016 Westbound Panama Canal Cruise on the Disney Wonder -

Such a great time with WONDERful Friends and great Servers too!

WHITE - I used 3 photos of my Mom and Dad - when they went to my Dad's Prom in 1959

The shimmer on the leaves and the hearts was created using Picket Fence Studios "Paper Glaze"

BLUE - I made this layout during my Facebook Live Event- using a photo from our drive along the California Coast and a water tearing technique

Thanks for stopping by!  I hope I've inspired you to get scrappy with it, and play along!

Scrap Our Stash "Star" Sketch Challenge "Magical Adventure"

Hello everyone!  I hope you and your families are doing well during these crazy times!  I'm sharing a layout I made for the Scrap Our Stash Blog's July Sketch Challenge  - Head on over to the Scrap Our Stash Blog for the Challenge Rules and Prize info - and lots more inspiration from the rest of the Design Team!

I decided to use a larger photo than what is in the sketch - and still try to stay true to the placement and elements of the sketch.  Since we are not traveling these days, I picked a photo of happier times -when we cruised out of NYC on the Disney Magic in October of 2017 to celebrate our 35th Wedding Anniversary with our family!

I used yellow star patterned paper and punch out stars from star pattern paper too and used them as embellishments.
Here are some close-ups for you:

A great time was had by all! - Wishing we will be able to cruise again soon, but I am doubtful when that will be.  I'll just have to keep cherishing and scrapping our memories!
Stay Safe and Be Well!
I hope you can join us and play along with The Scrap Our Stash Blog this month!

Challenge YOUrself #79 - Buckingham Palace

Hi everyone!!  Happy July!!!  I hope this post finds YOU and YOUr families doing well, and YOU are all keeping safe! I also hope YOU can find some time to play along with us this month, at the Challenge YOUrself Blog!!  We have this great sketch to inspire YOU!  Please use it to help YOU get YOUr "craft on!" I can't wait to see what YOU will come up with!!

Here is my take on the sketch - I used a photo of my husband and I from our trip to London in October of 2018.  Phil had a bright green Seahawks rain jacket on - so I decided to print it out in sepia tones, so it would work better with the papers I wanted to use!

I used papers from BoBunny's Weekend Market, and lots of STUFF that I had in my stash!
I have to admit, I did create my list all of the "ingredients" used, but we are having some work done on our house, and my "scrap-room" has become the "storage area" for a few days.  I can't access it, or my notebook with the list of all the items used.  Suffice it to say, I mixed up lots of paper lines, and embellishments, and I LOVE how it turned out - I hope you do too!
Here are some close ups for you:

Thanks so much for stopping by!  I really can't wait to see what YOU create! - Please check out PRIZE INFO and Challenge Rules - plus LOTS more INSPIRATION from the rest of the Design team at the Challenge YOUrself Blog!!
Be well and stay safe!

Scrap Our Stash July - Pick Your Word Challenge: "Let Freedom Ring"

It is time for this month's What's My Challenge over at the Scrap Our Stash Blog!!  This month we challenge you to "Pick Your Word" from those listed on the left side of the photo below - and not only use it on your layout - but you must use a stash item that starts with each of the letters in the word you picked!
I am also entering this layout in the Challenge Up Your Life Blog’s Vacation Mood Challenge
I picked the word FREEDOM, and used photos of our sail-away from New York City, on our NCL cruise to Bermuda last October. I had printed 2 photos of the Statue of Liberty, and decided to fussy cut one of them, and used pop dots add it to the other photo to add dimension.  I am LOVING this awesome Vicki Boutin "Let's Wander" mixed media collection!  Such FUN!!

Items used for the word challenge:
F: Flair and Fibers
R: Ranger Distress Stains
E: Epoxy Camera
E: Ephemera (travel title)
D:  DewDrops
O: Outline (stars and hearts)
M: Mists - splattered on layout

Here you can see where I used the word "FREEDOM" and how I pop dotted the photo
Here is a close up showing where I tucked my journaling tag behind the photo. Also, I made the iridescent hearts by spreading Picket Fence Paper Glaze - Succulent Green and Ocean Poppy on heavy cardstock, then punching out hearts and some stars too.

Thanks so much for stopping by!  I hope you will find some time to create with us this month!  Be sure to head on over the the Scrap Our Stash Blog - for complete contest rules, prize info, and lots more inspiration from the rest of the Design Team! I can't wait to see what word inpires you!
