Scrap Our Stash April Sketch +3 "LOVE THIS!"

Hello my scrappy friends!!  HAPPY MID APRIL to you!  If it is the middle of the month - that must mean it is time for a SKETCH + 3 Challenge from the SCRAP OUR STASH BLOG!
We've got SWEET one for you this month - LOTS of possibilities!!
Take a look and let your imagination run with it!!
Not only is the Challenge to use the Sketch as your inspiration, you also need to include ONE item from each of the 3 Lists at the bottom!  This really makes it interesting - and if you are like me - you will be going through your stash, and finding "stuff" you forgot you had!!!!

For the +3 Challenge- I decided to use the following items from the Lists:
1)  Jillibean Soup  "Yellow Tomatoes" (the yellow lined base paper)
2) KaiserCraft "Vagabond/Nomad ( the pink flowered paper )
3) Lined Paper ( the Jillibean Soup paper, along with lined embellishments from Theresa Collin's Far and Away Collection)
Here is my Design Team Layout Submission:  "LOVE THIS!"
The photos in the layout are SELFIES that I took of my Mom and I at show of The Midtown Men at the New Jersey Performing Arts Center, last May.  Her Mother's Day gift last year was "Dinner and a Show."  We had dinner at the restaurant at the theater before the show, and then enjoyed listening to The Midtown Men. Gifts like this, when we get to enjoy time together are my favorite! I love spending time with my Mom, we always have FUN times together.

Here are some close ups for you:
I decided to print the photos using a black and white filter on my computer.  I tore the edges and then inked them with Ranger Distress Stain - Peacock Feathers. LOVE this look!

The tag, from Heidi Swapp was once ivory.  I sprayed it with Patina Glimmer Mist and Dylusions Vibrant Turquoise Ink Spray. I then added a coral cardstock mat to the back to make the "LOVE THIS" title POP!  I secured it to the layout with a black and white brad from my stash, that I tied some cool/funky fibers too!  I love how it came out!
Here is a close up of the fibers!

This flower was made from the Die Cut Flowers pack part of the Theresa Collins Far and Away Collection.  I inked each layer of petals and curled the edges to give it some dimension.  I used a smaller black and white brad from my stash, that matches the larger one on the tag.

Here is a close up of the flower- there are 6 layers!
Thanks for stopping by!  I hope my layout and this Sketch +3 Challenge from Scrap Our Stash INSPIRES you to get out there and CREATE something!! Looking forward to seeing your submissions over at the

This one's for the girls! April's Challenge at Challenge YOUrself Blog

OH MY!  How FUN is this Challenge!!?? When I saw this month's prompt for our April Challenge over at the Challenge YOUrself Blog, I knew exactly what photos I wanted to use!

Here is how this month's challenge works - use the Lyrics from the song "This one's for the girls" by Martina Mc Bride, as your inspiration, ( words are at the bottom of this post,) and be sure to include a photo of YOU in your layout!

Here is my DT Layout for the challenge:

Here are a few of my girlfriends, or "My Peeps" as we each call one another.  There are many other "Peeps" missing from these photos, but I thought that these 3 captured lots of laughter and love, and worked perfectly with the theme for this challenge. (I am sure you will see other photos with more wonderful ladies in future layouts!)  They ALL ALWAYS make me laugh, and we always have a good time when we are together.  We have spent many long days, into the wee hours of the night laughing so hard at our scrapbook weekend get-a-aways! They are my "Shooting Stars!" and they are all BEAUTIFUL they way they are!!

These photos were taking at a Scrapbook Retreat / Weekend, hosted by Scrap-a-Doodle Doo.  If you are in the NY / NJ area, check out their website, and see if any of their upcoming dates work for you - I PROMISE you will have as much FUN as you can see we are having in these photos! www.shopthedoo.com

I included lots of BLING and some STARS in my layout!

I LOVE this camera that I made out of cardstock. It is a die from Tim Holtz. I even made the camera into a "pocket" to hold a journaling card!  FUN!!

A white gel pen is a "must have" and I love how it looks on black cardstock! There are 3 different kinds of washi tape in this photo - can you spot them?

This one's for the girls,
Who LOVE without holdin' back,
Who Dream with everything they have!

This is for all you girls about forty two,
Tossin' pennies into the fountain of youth,
Every laugh line on your face,
Made you who you are today!

Thanks for stopping by!  I hope my layout made you SMILE and inspired you to play along with us at the Challenge YOUrself Blog this month!

This One's for the Girls
By Martina McBride
"This is for all you girls about thirteen,
High school can be so rough can be so mean,
Hold on to on to your innocence,
Stand your ground when everybody's givin' in.
This one's for the girls
This is for all you girls about twenty five,
In little apartments just tryin' to get by,
Livin' on on dreams and spaghetti-o's,
Wonderin' where your life is gonna go.
[Chorus]
This one's for the girls,
Who've ever had a broken heart,
Who've wished upon a shooting star,
You're beautiful the way you are,
This one's for the girls,
Who love without holdin' back,
Who dream with everything they have,
All around the world,
This one's for the girls.
This is for all you girls about forty two,
Tossin' pennies into the fountain of youth,
Every laugh line on your face,
Made you who you are today.
[Chorus]
Yeah we're all the same inside,
From one to ninety nine
[Chorus]"

April SOS Book Challenge "Paradise Found!"

"Paradise" Found!
When I saw this month's book cover challenge inspiration for Scrap Our Stash's Book Inspired April Challenge, and that the additional challenge was to add 2+ Clouds, I started looking through my photos to see what "inspired" me.  Here is the Scrap Our Stash Challenge - All Details and more Inspiration can also be found on the Scrap Our Stash BLOG!
I found these great photos of some beautiful clouds, from or trip to Turks and Caicos, this past October, and thought they would be fun to use for this challenge.  Here is my DT Layout:

Beaches Resort was AMAZING and we had a super fun time, laughing with my brothers-in law and sister-in law, and made lots of memories - one we will always hold dear and cherish!
Truly PARADISE!

Here are some close ups for you:
Since "photos" of clouds technically are not part of my "stash" ( the clouds need to be part of the scrap items from my stash to count) I selected this FUN Cloud paper from American Crafts.
I LOVED using this new "YOU ARE HERE" Collection from Simple Stories.  Their Sticker sheet and Bits and Pieces pack had clouds in them - so I included them too!

And while I was "digging" through my stash, I found a pack of My Mind's Eye Charm "Sweet" bits and pieces - with 2 of these COOL 3D Velum clouds and had to add them too!!

Thanks for stopping by, and don't forget to head on over the the Scrap Our Stash Blog - for more inspiration and Challenge / Prize Details!  I hope you will join in with us this month!!
