SOS August Sketch Challenge "Candytopia"

Hi Everyone - I hope this challenge finds you and your family doing well.  I am really enjoying scrapping memories of when life was "normal" and find happiness reliving those memories - ones that none of us will ever take for granted again I am sure!!

Here is this month's sketch challenge from the Scrap Our Stash Blog - Please use this sketch as your inspiration, and also be sure to include striped paper and paint or ink somewhere on your layout!

I selected photos of a girls day trip to NYC to the Candytopia Pop up - where we celebrated our friend Stephanie's Birthday - can't believe it was almost 2 years ago!  We had so much fun! Looking forward to spending time with friends again one day for sure.......

I used "Pool" Ranger Adirondack Acrylic Paint (that I've had forever) and a stencil to make the stars. The striped paper can be found in the 2 circles.  I used papers from Vicki Boutin's "Let's Wander Collection"

Here are some close ups for you:

I hope I've inspired you to play along with me and the rest of the Design Team at the Scrap Our Stash Challenge Blog - Be sure to click on the link, and check out contest rules, prize info and lots more inspiration from the team!

Scrap Our Stash "Star" Sketch Challenge "Magical Adventure"

Hello everyone!  I hope you and your families are doing well during these crazy times!  I'm sharing a layout I made for the Scrap Our Stash Blog's July Sketch Challenge  - Head on over to the Scrap Our Stash Blog for the Challenge Rules and Prize info - and lots more inspiration from the rest of the Design Team!

I decided to use a larger photo than what is in the sketch - and still try to stay true to the placement and elements of the sketch.  Since we are not traveling these days, I picked a photo of happier times -when we cruised out of NYC on the Disney Magic in October of 2017 to celebrate our 35th Wedding Anniversary with our family!

I used yellow star patterned paper and punch out stars from star pattern paper too and used them as embellishments.
Here are some close-ups for you:

A great time was had by all! - Wishing we will be able to cruise again soon, but I am doubtful when that will be.  I'll just have to keep cherishing and scrapping our memories!
Stay Safe and Be Well!
I hope you can join us and play along with The Scrap Our Stash Blog this month!

My Little Scrapbook Store Challenge #19 "Memories Captured"

I participated in my first "On-Line Crop" hosted by My Little Scrapbook Store, over Superbowl weekend! This was a lot of FUN!  They posted 23 different challenges for layout inspiration. I decided to create a layout for Challenge # 19 - "Go Retro"
I found this photo of my little brother Jack and I, from 1963 and decided to use it for the layout I am entering in the challenge:

Here are some close-ups for you-

I added the year to the journaling tag the I tucked behind one of the papers and included info about the photo on the back.

I love this "Memories Captured" Collection from Fancy Pants Design - the colors are awesome!

I hope I've inspired you to get scrappy with it -
Thanks for stopping by and check out the My Little Scrapbook Store Facebook Page, and On-line Store.

Scrap Our Stash June Pick Your Side "Wet Willie's"

Hi Scrappy friends- this month's Scrap Our Stash Pick Your Side Sketch Challenge is a really cool one!  Be inspired by either the Left or Right Sketch and be sure to use BOTH Polka Dot Patterned Paper AND Numbers on your layout!  All Challenge info and more inspiration from our Design Team can be found on the Scrap Our Stash Blog!

Here is my take on this month's Sketch Challenge:

I picked the sketch on the RIGHT and used a BIG Polka Dot Patterned Page as my base, and there are a few more Polka Dots on the tab at the top left.  My numbers are the date 12-30 stickers and the year 2015 from the Ephemera Pack. All components are from the Fancy Pants Design "Memories Captured" Collection -except for the wire heart, twine and Ranger Distress Stains I used to ink the edges.
Here are some close ups for you:

Thanks for stopping by!  I hope I've inspired you to play along with us at the Scrap Our Stash Blog this month!

Lasting Memories March Guest Designer - BIRTHDAY SKETCH

I am so excited to announce that I have been chosen as a Guest Designer for the month of March at the "Lasting Memories" Scrapbook Layout Challenge Blog!!!  Woo Hoo!! - this is a really FUN Challenge Blog with lots of talented Designers, and lots of FUN Challenges, and I am honored that I was chosen!!

The first challenge of the month is to use the AWESOME Sketch below - by Laura Whitaker !  AND - since it is Sandy's Birthday Month - ( she is one of the DT Members at Lasting Memories) - the theme for the Layout should be "Birthday"
Well, I realized that I didn't have many (if any) Birthday papers, so I improvised and use a great paper collection from Fancy Pants!  I've had this for a while and just LOVE the colors!  Here is my layout for your inspiration:
These photos are from my family Birthday dinner this past June.  Instead of buying gifts ( but we usually do get each other something small anyway,) we go out to dinner at the restaurant of the Birthday person's choice.   I sat next to my crazy (younger) and WONDERFUL Brother this year at my celebration!  We took a few silly selfies until our Mom took one of us from across the table.
I LOVE my "little" Brother - I know he is always there for me if I need him - and he is so talented and a gifted craftsman - I use paper - he uses wood!!  LOVE YOU BROTHER!!

Here are some close ups for you:
I added stickers to spell out "Happy Birthday"

I made some candles out of paper to add to the Birthday feel of this layout!

We are never too old to be Silly! - I love to add a pocket behind my photos to slide a tag into - I use the tag to journal the story of the photos and layout.

Celebrating my "double nickel" Birthday!  #thisiswhat55lookslike LOL!
Thanks for stopping by!  Check out the Lasting Memories BLOG for full Challenge Rules, Prize Info and a place to LINK up your entry!  I hope you will play along with us this month!

I will be submitting a Guest Designer Layout for each week in March - so stop back next week to see what other challenges are in store!
