SOS August Blend-a-Sketch - Starbucks Anyone?

Hello Scrappy Friends  - it is time to join us over at the Scrap Our Stash Blog, and use up some of the beautiful stash you've been holding on to!!  All of the details for August's Blend-a-Sketch Challenge -  like Rules and PRIZE info, along with more inspiration can be found on the Scrap Our Stash Blog!

Your challenge is to blend elements of the 2 sketches below -
and be sure to add ARROWS!!

Here is my layout for your inspiration:
I'm a huge lover of Starbucks, and love to visit Starbucks locations wherever and whenever we travel.  The photos on this layout are from Starbucks Puerto Vallarta, Mexico. It was one of our Ports of Call on our 2016 Disney Panama Canal Cruise.

I used the 2 photos from the left sketch, along with different papers and washi tape behind the photos, and the placement of some of the embellishments.  From the right sketch, I used the vertical placement of the patterned background papers, along with the scalloped edge - that I reversed, and used it for a journaling line.

Here are some close ups for you:
A new scrappy friend, Jackie, made that sweet Starbucks drink embellishment for me - love it!! - Oh - and here you can see one of the arrows I added too!

I've had that little plastic Starbucks cup embellie forever - so glad I had a chance to use it.  Can you spot the 2nd Arrow for the Challenge? Oh, and that coffee bean is a brad!! So cool!
I also got to use 3 different Starbucks Washi Tapes that I got about a year ago from
  Washi Kingdom. Fun Stuff!

Thanks so much for stopping by!  I hope to see your layout entered over on the
Scrap Our Stash Blog this month!

August CY #56 Mother Daughter Layout

So it is time for another Awesome Challenge from the Challenge YOUrself Blog!  This month we challenge YOU to create a Mother-Daughter Themed Layout.  Just be sure to include YOU in one of the photos!  All of the details, rules and PRIZE info, along with more inspiration can be found on the Challenge YOUrself Blog!  Hope on over and see all to the beautiful inspiration layouts from our AMAZING Design Team!

So I had a bit of a challenge this month  - you see, I fell and broke my wrist on June 28th! My first broken bone and cast in my 57 years!!   I was not about to let a broken wrist stop me and I was able to complete this layout and 2 more - at a girl's scrappy weekend in July - right before I had the cast removed!

I used a photo taken of me and my mom, who is also my best friend, at a neighbor's 80th Birthday Party - no - we were not in New York City - this was a green screen backdrop that we chose! - Even though we live only 20 mins from NYC!!

I saw a really cool layout online that used multiple cutout patterned paper frames and used it as inspiration for this page.
Love all the colors and embellishments in this collection!

Here are some close ups for you:

Hoping you will join us this month at the Challenge YOUrself Blog and I'm looking forward to seeing your beautiful creation!

SOS August Golden Globe Journal Card and Friend

Happy August Everyone!  Wow!  this year is just flying right by!  It is time for the next Golden Globe Challenge over at the Scrap Our Stash Blog - and it is a FUN one!  All of the details, rules and PRIZE info, along with more inspiration can be found on the Scrap Our Stash Blog - so head on over there next!

Here is the inspiration movie theme for you - PLUS, you will need to add a journal card and the word "FRIEND" somewhere on your layout!  I can't wait to see what you come up with!

Here is my DT Inspiration layout for you:
For the movie challenge - I decided to use "friendship" and "laughter" as my inspiration. I started with a fun photo of my friend Janice and I at one of our favorite crop weekend events!  The theme was Circus, and we had a great time at the "Big Top!"
These weekends are always filled with lots of FUN and Laughter!
(I'm not sure which one of us is Thelma and which one is Louise! LOL!!)

I've added the word FRIENDS to the photo with some mini alpha stickers and I tucked a journaling card behind the photo - you can see it in the close-ups below.

I used papers from the Echo Park "Circus Party" Collection.  I just love their papers.  They are such a beautiful heavy weight, and their designs/patterns are awesome!

Here are some close ups for you:

I always try to tuck a jounaling tag behind one of the photos on my layout.  I do this by "popping" a photo using 3M Foam Tape, and making a 3 sided "box" on the back of the photo mat, that I can slide the tag into.

Thanks for stopping by - I hope you can join us at the Scrap Our Stash Blog this month!!
