Instant Pot Buffalo Wings

I got a new Instant Pot for Christmas from my sons.  If you don't know what one is, it is an electronic pressure cooker.  I'm just getting the hang of using it.

Since we had a MAJOR snowstorm here in NJ yesterday, (we got almost 2 feet of snow!,) and my guys were outside all day clearing out snow from the neighborhood, I decided to try to make
Buffalo Wings in my Instant Pot!

I think they came out GREAT!

************************************
I had made the DELICIOUS Honey Bourbon BBQ Wings from The Kitchen Whisperer a few weeks ago, (they were GREAT! you have to try them too!!) so I wanted to see if I could make Buffalo Wings in the Instant Pot too!  After searching Instagram, I didn't find any that looked interesting (or easy!) so I decided to "Wing it" on my own!!

First I marinated the wings in the sauce I made up for about 4 hours
Then I added them to my Instant Pot, turned the manual setting to 10 minutes, and let them cook!

Here is how they looked after cooking.

I then removed them and put them on a non-stick foil lined baking sheet,
and put them under the broiler, for 5 minutes on each side.
* I also turned the Instant Pot up to Saute' and let the sauce reduce for about 10 mins, adding 2 tablespoons of cornstarch mixed with 2 tablespoons of water - at the end.

Next, I dunked each one in the thickened sauce, and flipped them over on the tray, then back under the broiler for 5 more minutes and......

BAM!! - They were a HIT!

Here is the recipe  - Let me know if you try them.
I think I will be making them again for Super Bowl Sunday!!
ENJOY!

Ingredients
·         4 lbs wings
·         1 1/2 cups Hot Sauce ( I used Frank's)
·         3/4 cup water
·         1/2 cup Apple Cider Vinegar
·         2 Tbl Worcestershire
·         2 tsp smoked paprika
·         1 tsp chipotle or cayenne * Less for less hot!
·         2 Tbl sugar (white or brown)
·         2 Tbl honey
·         3 Tbls Ketchup
·         1 tsp salt
·         1/2 tsp black pepper
·         3 tsp Garlic Powder
Instructions
1.     In a bowl big enough to fit the sauce and wings, whisk together all ingredients until combined
2.     Pat dry the wings, and add to bowl.
3.     Let wings marinate @ 4hrs.
4.     Add the wings and sauce to the Instapot Pressure Cooker
5.     Lock the lid down and set it to High pressure, 10 minutes.
6.     When the 10 minutes is up do a quick release.
7.     While the quick release is relieving pressure, place the oven rack in the middle. and line a rimmed pan with non-stick foil.
8.     Gently remove the wings from the pressure cooker with tongs and place on pan. I had about 40 wings.
9.     Set the pressure cooker to Saute'.
10.  Place the wings in the oven and broil for 5 minutes each side.
11.  While the wings are in the oven stir the sauce until thickened ~10 minutes, adding 2 Tbls of Cornstarch mixed with a little water to help thicken.  Remove from Instapot, and put in a deep bowl.
12.  Remove the pan from the oven and dunk each wing in the sauce, and turn them over, when putting them back on the pan.
13.  Return to the broiler for 5 minutes until they are charred and crisp.
14.  Serve with your favorite dressing and the extra sauce.

Here is my Layout -for your inspiration:
This is a layout with photos of our January 2014 Disney Fantasy Cruise, and our day on Disney's Private Island, Castaway Cay -one of the most beautiful places on earth
- in my opinion! :-)
Love this beautiful Gold Title, by American Crafts!!
I stapled some paper yarn in a circle, behind the tag, with my Tim Holtz Tiny Attacher and added a nautical brad, a "Hidden Mickey" (can you see him) and an enamel dot.
Love the colors and patterns in this line!  I used the triangle stickers, that I matted with cardstock, and some more paper yarn, to make a banner in the upper left corner.

Besides the items listed above, I inked/edge distressed my papers with Ranger Distress Stains - Ripe Persimmon, Picket Fence, Blue Print Sketch, Evergreen Bough.

I decided to use a favorite "Selfie" photo of my oldest son Nick and I, from a vacation back in 2013.  I can't believe how short I am, or how tall he is! LOL!  Anyway, I LOVE this photo of us on the beach, in North Topsail Beach, NC.

I had lots of fun layer papers from Imaginesce's "Perfect Vacation" paper line!  I love the cool color combo of this line!!  I used "Say Cheese," "Good Times," and "Random Stripes."
LOVE LOVE LOVE the 3D Foam Amy Tangerine "Grace" Thickers- they just pop with all the bright colors!  The white Uniball Gel Pen pops on the black tag too!

I used 3D foam tape to make a pocket behind the photo to add a journaling tag, which has a double washi tape pull.
Washi Tape and Flair are some of my favorite embellies, and also a little Bling too - always gotta have some Bling!! LOL!!
Here is a close-up of the journaling card - you can also see some of the layering, and inky torn edges.  I used Twisted Citron, Picket Fence, Peacock Feathers, and Aged Mahogany Distress Stains and Blue Moon Powder Puff Chalk Ink too!

You have until February 4th to LINK up your entry!  I hope you will play along with us at The Challenge YOUself Blog!!

Happy Scrapping!!

Scrap Our Stash - January 2016 - "Christmas 1963"

We are trying something new over at Scrap Our Stash!!
Some NEW EXCITING Challenges are headed your way!!
Here is the first one for January!
So - how does it work?  Take a look at the photo, and let it inspire you to create your layout.  ALSO, if you look on the right page of the book, there is an added little challenge too!  This one is "you must use white paint, or paint splatters" on your layout!!

Still stumped?
Well, at first I thought the cat was walking on a beach with blue water behind him - so a beach layout would have worked.  Or how about a layout with a cat in it? Maybe a layout with a RED, WHITE and BLUE color scheme? Or just a BLACK and RED maybe? You could do a layout with Shoes or a Hat in it too!  All of those ideas would work - and I am sure you can come up with a BUNCH more too!

After realizing he was really walking in SNOW - I decided to do a winter or Christmas layout.  I'm not sure why, but I don't seem to do many Christmas layouts - but I am SO HAPPY with how this one came out!  Take a peek, I hope you like it too!!

This is a picture of my little brother and I - his first time on Santa's lap, at 7 months old, and he doesn't look too happy LOL!!
I, on the other hand, am holding onto that present like I'll never let it go!!  I was 2 1/2 in that photo.

Since I rarely do Christmas layouts (not sure why that is, I just never seem too...) - you can bet I had a bunch of STUFF stowed in my stash, and I thought this sweet vintage looking paper collection "Aspen Frost" from Basic Grey would be perfect for this photo!!
I LOVE these sparkling RED "Alphabits" Letters made by Queen and Co too!!!

I fussy cut some of the ornaments out of the Basic Grey
"Tin Soldier" paper, inked the edges and poked a hole at the top of them, then strung them with some bakers twine, and added them to the layout with  3D Foam.  I also included  a cute little Nutcracker sticker from Little B Stickers!!

Love the GOLD Bling on the Lily Bee Design "Jingle Egg Nog" paper - serious HOTNESS!!  I made a pocket behind the photo and added a jounaling card. I punched a hole in it and used the same ribbon for the tag, that I used at the bottom of the layout.

Here is a close up of the tag

I chose "WHITE Paint" for the added element, and painted these 3 wooden snowflakes, that I added to the top right corner.  I also added some enamel dots too

Thanks for stopping by!  I hope you will have as much FUN with this new Challenge format as I did!! Please stop by the SCRAP OUR STASH BLOG for complete Challenge Details, and PRIZE INFO too!!

I can't wait to see what you come up with!!
