JULY SOS Sketch +3 "Take me out to the ball game!"

Hi everyone!  Thanks for stopping by today!  I hope this Sketch Challenge from Scrap Our Stash, and my layout for their Design Team help to inspire you to play along!  I love these "Sketch +3" Challenges!  They really help you to dig into your stash, and sometimes find things you forgot you had!! LOL!  Here is this month's sketch:

Use the sketch for the inspiration to create your layout, and pick one item from each of the 3 lists. (yes you can pick more than one, but you have to pick at least one!)

And here is my layout:

I used 2 photos from a minor league baseball game my hubby and I attend with a group of friends last year. Here are the items I used from the 3 lists:
List #1: Simple Stories - "Life in Color" Page Elements and Lt Blue Water Color papers, along with Brads and Bits and Pieces from that collection
I also used Bazzill "Phoenix" Cardstock for the "Sangria" item, and Ranger Distress Stain in Candied Apple, and Red jewel brads as well!
List #2: I used TWINE - on the 2 tags
List #3: I used a black Uniball Pen for journaling, along with a Ultramarine colored Glimmer Mist that I sprayed on the base page and some brads as well.

July Challenge YOUrself "Summer Waves" Sketch

Happy July everyone!!  Can you believe we are more than half way through 2016, and in the second month of summer here on the east coast!   Well, The Challenge YOUrself Blog is keeping with the summer theme for this month's challenge!  Please use the sketch below for your JULY Challenge inspiration, and be sure to include a photo of YOU and a summer theme, when creating your layout too!   All challenge rules and PRIZE info can be found on The Challenge YOUrself BLOG too!

Below is the layout I created for the Design Team, and your inspiration. They are photos of me in the ocean, on a summer vacation, back in 2009.  We rented a house on the beach, at North Topsail Beach,  NC.  The ocean was just so calm and beautiful, and we had a wonderful time.  We hope to go back there someday soon!

I used some old papers I've had in my stash forever - trying to match the blues and greens from the ocean.  The seashell were actually collected along the beach there. One of my favorite beach activities is to walk along the shoreline and collect shells.  We also found sharks teeth along this beach too - but I didn't include them in my layout!

I created the paint pearls by following the swirls on the base page, using Nuvo Crystal Drops - Caribbean Ocean, Ranger Liquid Pearls - Key Lime - they are both so much fun!!

July SOS Book Cover "HERE WE GO!"

Oh the places you'll go!

Happy JULY my Scrappy friends!

This month's book challenge over at the Scrap Our Stash Blog is up and ready for you to join in!!

Here it is - I hope it inspires you to play along with us this month too!!

Oh What FUN! Right!?

There is so much going on for this challenge!  I think that makes it even more fun!
(1) Use the book cover for inspiration
(2) Use 5 different patterned papers
(3) Use at least (1) round embellishment

Here is what I came up with:

I used the COLORS, and the TITLE of the book cover for my inspiration.

COLORS: Since the colors in the photo were similar but also brighter, I selected papers from the Simple Stories "You are Here!"  collection for this layout.

TITLE: I selected a photo of my hubby and me, in a "souped up" dune buggy, in Cozumel, Mexico. It even had padded bucket seats and air conditioning! We were on a Dune Buggy and Snorkeling excursion during our stop at the port of Cozumel, on our Panama Canal cruise, this past May, so I thought the photo tied in perfectly with the "Oh the places we'll go!" book Title, and even used a base paper that had the "Here we go!" title already on it!!

PATTERNED PAPERS: I LOVE mixing up patterned papers. As you can see, I used more than 5 patterned papers!!  If you find this is a challenge, try using papers from the same manufacturer's collection. This makes it easier, as they have done all the coordinating for you!!

ROUND EMBELLISHMENTS:  I used 2 green die cut cardstock circles that I have had in my stash forever! I filled them in with patterned paper. I also used a round GLOBE sticker and a brad from the collection, and added some round sequins too!
