Our Little Helper - Scrap Our Stash Sketch +3 December Challenge

It is time for the December Sketch + 3 Challenge from SCRAP OUR STASH!  This was a fun one - and it gave me a chance to scrap some adorable photos that I've been holding on to for "just the right layout," of our Portuguese Water Dog, Maggie!

I used the following items from the 3 lists:
List #1 - Red
List #2 - Flair and Green
List #3 - Tag (for journaling) and Gold washi tape

Our Maggie always loves to help decorate our Christmas Tree!

I "stitched" the circle element of the sketch using a sparkly gel pen!

I 3-D "popped" the photo so that I could slide a tag with journaling behind it.  Love how cool the puffy lights look on the photo!!

She is such a sweetie pie!  I made the center circle "flair" using my Epiphany Crafts punch with patterned paper and clear acrylic circle bubble.
I actually used 2 pieces of the Bo Bunny Mistletoe Ornament paper - and "fussy cut" the ornaments out on the 2nd piece, then 3-D "popped" them with foam dots, and also decorated them with pearls and gems.

Here is a peek of the journaling tag that is tucked behind the photos!

Thanks for stopping by!  Please visit the SCRAP OUR STASH BLOG, for full challenge and PRIZE DETAILS, and LOTS MORE INSPIRATION from all of our very TALENTED Design Team Members!

Wishing you and your family a very MERRY CHRISTMAS, and a Happy and Healthy Holiday Season!

Happy Holidays! from Challenge Yourself "Christmas Morning"

Happy Holidays Everyone!  Can you believe Christmas is just a few weeks away??!!!
In keeping with the Holiday Theme, the Challenge YOUrself Blog's December Challenge is to create a layout with a Holiday Theme - and be sure to include a photo of YOU in it!  This is going to be FUN!  I can't wait to see what you come up with!!

Here is my Inspiration Layout for you! Even though it is a photo of my family on Christmas morning, I decided to use a black and white photo, and a non-traditional color pallet.  I hope you like it!
I had the photo printed in 2 different sizes, and couldn't decide which one to use, so in the end - I used them both!
I love my guys and am so very thankful and BLESSED to have such a loving and wonderful family!
I took a plain wooden "Blessed" title, painted it with teal and pearl paint, and then rubbed some purple stickles over it.  I love how it came out!  Besides the painted wooden title, there is a big mix of embellies in this corner, enamel dots, rhinestones, brads a chipboard star and washi tape too!

I created a "banner" using washi tape that I folded over and cut flag bottoms, and placed tiny enamel dots in between each.

Who would have thought Teal, Purple, White, Black, and Silver would work with a Christmas Layout?!  Sometimes it is fun to reach outside of the "norm" and traditional and create what makes you feel happy!

Don't forget  Click HERE to see all the Challenge and Prize Details, along with lots of inspiration from all of our Amazing Design Team Members at the Challenge YOUrself Blog!

I wish YOU and your family the HAPPIEST of HOLIDAYS and a VERY MERRY CHRISTMAS!

December SOS Book Inspired Challenge Christmas Memories

Oh my goodness!  How did it get to be December already!!  I don't know about you, but I think that 2016 has flown by! Let me take a minute to wish you and your families a very Happy and Healthy Holiday Season, filled with Love, Laughter, and Wonderful Memories!
Speaking of memories, I used the "Christmas theme" and Red and Green colors from this month's SCRAP OUR STASH Book Inspired Challenge, to create my DT Layout, that captures a special Christmas memory!
Believe it or not, I really didn't have many Christmas papers in my stash, but I am happy to say, what I did have worked out well for this challenge.  I used striped paper and enamel dots, for the added challenge items.
Here is my Layout:
This is a photo of my wonderful Mom and Dad on Christmas morning, 2008.  I can't believe this was 8 years ago already!  I love the vintage look of these papers!
Here you can see where I added a pocket behind the photo, using 3D Foam take, to add a jounaling tag.

Here is the tag that is tucked behind the photo - I used a white gel pen, to go along with the chalkboard look of the tag.  (My oldest son named my Mom "Meem" when he was little, and that is what we all call her now.)

Below are some close ups for you
Here you can easily see "striped paper" and the red white and green "enamel dots"

I love these little trees!  I added some bling to them, matted then on cardstock, and used 3D Foam Tape to pop them even more!

Here are some more enamel dots, and I love using washi tape! I added some sparkle to the "Smile" title with a clear Wink of Stella brush too!

Thanks for stopping by!  Again, I wish you and your family a very Merry Christmas, and a Happy and Healthy Holiday Season!

Please stop by over at the SCRAP OUR STASH BLOG and check out our Challenge and PRIZE  - I hope you get some YOU time this month and can play along with us!

I AM THANKFUL! November Challenge YOUrself Blog Inspiration

Happy November everyone!   It is time for this month's challenge over at the Challenge YOUrself Blog.  With this month being the month we celebrate Thanksgiving, your inspiration is the word "THANKFUL."
As an added challenge, you must use a banner somewhere on your page, and as always, one of the photos on your layout must be of YOU!

Here is my take on the challenge.  I decided to scrap "Someone" and "Something" I am so THANKFUL for!  This photo was taken of my husband and I on the Disney Panama Canal cruise we took together this past May.

The "Someone" I am THANKFUL for is my husband, best friend, and love of my life - Phil.  We were high school sweethearts and celebrated being together for 40 years while on the cruise! (How is that even possible??!!)

The "Something" I am THANKFUL for are the many adventures we have been blessed to share together, the amazing places we have visited, and the wonderful friendships we have made with people from all over the country and all over the world, while sailing on Disney Cruise Line.  This was our 9th Disney cruise, since our first one in 2001, and I look forward to continuing to make more memories aboard our favorite ships together.

I love how this layout turned out!  Scrapping a large 8x10" photo can be challenging for me, since it takes up so much of the page. I do love a good challenge though!
I added the button with the starfish as I think it kind of brings in the cruising theme.  The flower was white - I sprayed it with Gold and Black Glimmer Mist.

Here is the banner I made with scraps of papers I had on hand, that I stapled to gold embroidery floss and added with foam dots to the top of the layout.

Love this grouping of flowers, brads, buttons and bling!

This was a plain chipboard flourish.  I painted it with Ranger Tarnished Brass distress paint, then added some gold stickles and then black enamel paint as well.  I really like how it came out!

I love create little pockets on my layouts to hold a journaling card.  This is the front of the one I tucked under the bottom right corner of the photo.

Here is the side of the tag with the journaling.

Thanks for stopping by!  I really hope you will play along with us at the Challenge YOUrself Blog this month, and tell us what YOU are thankful for!  Check out all the details and PRIZE info "HERE!"

Tomorrowland - November's Book Inspired Challenge from Scrap Our Stash!

Hi everyone!  This month's Scrap Our Stash Book Cover Challenge is "Out of this world!"  There is so much inspiration in this book cover, I know you'll have a blast playing along!
Don't forget to use 3 or more stars on your layout too!

I decided to go with the "Outer Space" theme of the book cover, and I was also inspired by the Yellow and Blue colors, along with the round planet.  I immediately thought of the EK Success Rilley Wiley paper that I have had FOREVER - I've probably had this paper since around 2006....  really!!   Anyway, I thought it would make a perfect base page, and I'm happy with how it came out!

Here is my Inspiration page for you:
These photos are from our 2nd trip to Disneyland, this past May.  I thought the "Tomorowland" photos worked well with the whole "Outer Space" theme of the challenge.

Here you can see a bunch of Stars 3+ for the added challenge - Star Washi Tape, a Star photo frame, a couple of chipboard Stars, and a Star paper clip too!

Since it's a layout about Disneyland - I had to include a little yellow MICKEY!

Love my new Epiphany Crafts punch and hexagon epoxy shapes.  They really allow you to add perfect coordinating embellishments.

Thanks for stopping by - I hope you are inspired to play along with us at the Scrap Our Stash Blog - Go through your stash and see what you can come up with!!

Double Challenge entry "You & Me Forever"

Hi Scrappy friends -
I saw this really cool sketch on Brenda's the Grand Divas Scrappy Place Blog and decided to give it a try!

As and ADDED Challenge she linked up with Rochelle from over at the THIS or THAT Challenge Blog, so that you have a chance to win a bonus prize!   Here is that challenge:

These are photos of my wonderful hubby and me, taken at a Sunflower Maze, here in New Jersey this past August.  I love sunflowers and he was so sweet to spend the day traipsing around a field of flowers with me.  We were lucky to go on a gorgeous sunny day, with beautiful blue skies and a few white puffy clouds!  With our busy hectic lives, I love that we are able to carve out some time to spend time together, and try to do so whenever we can.

We held hands, laughed, got a little lost...and he didn't complain when I took a ton of selfies and pictures!  We even stopped at a 50's Drive-In Restaurant for lunch and a cute farm stand on the way home too!

It was a WONDERFUL day and I feel so blessed to have spent it together with my guy in a field of flowers!

Love the colors in this collection by My Mind's Eye. I also like how the bold blue color of the Bazzill "North Sea" cardstock that I matted the page and the triangles with, makes everything "pop!"

I had this wooden title that was originally black, and actually was a magnet. I painted it the 2 colors, and I'm really happy with how it came out.  I glued a bright green twine to a circle that I first drew in pencil, to follow the sketch design.

Here you can see the "ticket" element that I added to play along with the This or That October challenge.

I added the date in this corner - with stickers that I have had forever - I chose white, to go along with the other word stickers that I used on the layout.

I love this little grouping of embellishments in the bottom left corner.  The clear "flair" embellie that I made with my fun new Epiphany Crafts circle punch using a piece of the pattern paper and clear resin sticker.  I fussy cut an inked some flowers and use brads that I've had in my stash forever!  I also painted a wooden & symbol with the same paint and technique I used in the title.

I've also entered this layout in the November Challenge over at the Studio Challenge Blog

Thanks for stopping by!  I hope I've inspired you to create!

Family Game Night Scrap Our Stash October Sketch Challenge

It's time for an awesome Sketch +3 Challenge over at the Scrap Our Stash Blog!!  This one is so versatile and a great way to use up some of your favorite scraps and stuff in your stash!!

I've had theses papers in my stash for some time....waiting for just the right photo(s) and layout.  I love the tag in this sketch - as tags are my favorite way to include a little bit of journaling in my layouts.  For the +3 part of the challenge, I used:
1. Desert - base page
2. Envelop - that I actually made out of one of the papers
3. French Wine - in the pattern paper and embellies

Here is my take on the sketch:

We had a spur of the moment "Family Game Night" with my brothers-in-laws and sister-in-laws.
We played one of our favorite games "Things!"
We had lots of fun laughing together!
I have also entered this in the November
"Something on an angle challenge" over at the
Here is the envelop I made out of one of the pieces of pattern paper, along with a grouping of embellishments.

I added a strip of Washi tape down the center of the photo the 2 stacks of cards for the game, and a little heart, as my take on the sketch.  I love the PRICELESS piece of Flair!!

Here you can see where I slipped in the tag with the journaling.

I Love this photo of us!!  Yes, it is a selfie - and I had to angle it like that to fit us all in!  Don't wait for a special occasion to spend time with those you love - get together and laugh and have fun whenever you can.  Life is too short and you never know what tomorrow might bring!

This is the front of the tag - I used stickers from the sticker sheet of the paper collection, and some real cool fibers.

This is the back of the tag - I love the added Washi - one of my favorite things to use!  Can't believe this was over 2 months ago... I think it is time for another game night soon!!
