Scrap Our Stash March Sketch + Washi "I Love Us!"

It is time for the March Pick Your Side Sketch +Plus Challenge over at the 

Scrap Our Stash Blog!  What side will you choose?

I selected the right sketch as my inspiration, but I only used 4 photos on my layout, 

and I LOVE any excuse to use Washi Tape!

I used a black and white camera, and some glittery gold washi on the layout - and I used an orange washi as the pull tab for my journaling card, tucked behind one of the photos.

These photos are of my husband and I when we visited a small brewery while on a weekend getaway to celebrate his birthday last month.  We just drove down to the Jersey Shore and stayed a few nights at a beautiful Bed and Breakfast.  I love the shore in the off season. We walked by the beach, but it was a bit chilly, did some shopping at the outlets, ate at some delicious restaurants, and saw a movie.  

I had done some research of the area and things to do before we left and I discovered that there was a small microbrewery nearby the movies - so we stopped there first. Now, anyone that knows my husband knows he does NOT like beer -at all!  BUT being the WONDERFUL guy he is - and he knows that I DO like beer - he agreed to go, and even took a sip of one - and then promptly "made that face!"  

Well, actually, while I do like beer, I also knew that I had a bunch of Beer themed patterned paper in my stash and really wanted to take some photos so that I could use it!! LOL! - Have you ever done that - bought paper with a future photo / layout in mind - and they planned a visit somewhere to get the photos? ( Or am I the only crazy one?) Anyway -I've got more photos and more paper - so watch for more beer layouts someday too!

Challenge YOUrself March #63 -Black and White + RED!

It's time for our March Challenge over at the Challenge YOUrself Blog!  This one appears easy, but for some reason it scared me a bit!  Be sure to include YOU in one of the photos you use!

I thought that being limited to only 3 colors would be difficult for me - BUT - I had so much FUN going through my stash and finding "stuff" with those colors!  I used scraps of papers I saved and I may have gone a bit crazy with embellishments - although I do love how it came out!

This is a selfie of our family just before we set sail on our October 2017 Disney Magic Cruise from New York to Disney in Florida and back - with a stop at Disney's Private Island Castaway Cay too!  We had a blast and made lots of "Magical Memories."  I am happy with the way that I capture our sail-away in this layout, and really enjoyed this challenge!

March SOS Cartoon Sketch Plus Challenge - "LUCKY"

Hello all my scrappy friends it is time for the first challenge of the month from the Scrap Our Stash Blog!  This month, along with using the sketch as your inspiration - let's see what inspires you from the cartoon on the left, and be sure to include a green embellishment(s) too!

My inspiration from this month's cartoon was:

A pet - my Grand-Kitty Sam, instead of Snoopy the dog.

Gold coins - I made my title gold with Nuvo Mousse

Green Shamrocks - I made one using 3 hearts that I punched out

And the whole "Lucky" theme of the cartoon - for my title.

I also used a few different GREEN Bling Embellishments from Queen and Company for the added challenge too!

Here is my layout - I hope you like it!

This is our grand-kitty Sam.  He is a rescue who lives with my son and his partner. They found him on the 4th of July and named him Sam Adams.  The center photo also captures some of my son's (handsome) face - that is why I added the small alpha letters around the LUCKY title - saying "Who is the LUCKY one" I think they both are :-)

 I Love to "Fussy Cut" and used flowers and birds from the Photo Play - Be Brave scraps as added embellishments around the layout. I used 3D Foam tape on some to give added dimension.
